The Story
Wildfire Run—Book Review

Twelve-year-old Luke can honestly say that there is no other boy in the country like him. That's because he is the son of the President of the United States. Luke is thrilled that he can finally have his friend Theo spend time with him at Camp David, the presidential retreat. But how can they have any fun with Secret Service agents watching their every move? Theo doesn't even have access to some of the most interesting parts of the highly secure compound. But when an earthquake in Missouri triggers a wildfire near Camp David, Luke finds himself on his own for the first time in years. Will Luke and his friend be able to escape Camp David before it's engulfed in flames?
The Scoop
Wildfire Run—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

Short chapters and lots of action make Wildfire Run a good choice for adventure-loving reluctant readers. The story provides insight into what life would be like as the child of the President of the United States. Readers will empathize with Luke, who has even less control over his life than the average twelve-year-old. In an emergency, Luke is forced to think for himself and he exhibits self control, leadership, and courage.
