The Story
Tales from a Not-So-Talented Pop Star (Dork Diaries #3)—Book Review

Nikki Maxwell is back, and she's still doing everything she can to keep everyone at school, especially her crush Brandon, from learning the truth--that she's there on scholarship in exchange for her Dad working as the school's exterminator. When it looks like her secret is about to be found out, Nikki decides to enter a talent competition with a school scholarship as a top prize. But as usual, misunderstandings occur, drama abounds, and Nikki and her friends are in for one wild and hilarious ride.
The Scoop
Tales from a Not-So-Talented Pop Star (Dork Diaries #3)—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

This funny book is the third in the Dork Diaries series. As with the previous books, it is age appropriate, engaging, and quick to read. The story is told completely in the form of diary entries, sprinkled liberally with fun and witty drawings and comics, much like a girl's version of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Nikki experiences all of the typical middle school issues: she is embarrassed by her parents, has a crush on a boy, and has to deal with school's mean girl. Nikki has a lot of heart, and she and her friends are a great support to each other. Completely wholesome, this book would appeal to a large age range of girls, from beginning readers to middle schoolers.
