The Story
Bessica Lefter Bites Back (Bessica Lefter #2)—Book Review

Bessica is back and for a while, things seem to be going well. Her friendship with Sylvie is back on track, she won half of the coveted school mascot position, and she is settling into middle school. Not all goes smoothly however, as she learns how competitive this whole mascot business really is, she and Sylvie experience a few bumps in the road of friendship, and she has to come to terms with the fact that Grandma's new boyfriend just may be here to stay.
The Scoop
Bessica Lefter Bites Back (Bessica Lefter #2)—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

Picking up right where The Reinvention of Bessica Lefter left off, Bessica Lefter Bites Back is as wholesome and entertaining as the first book in the series. Bessica continues to try to fit in at her school, and she has some new friends which definitely helps. Some mean-spirited texting between Bessica and Sylvie causes a new problem between them, though they do patch things up. In her role as school mascot half of the time, Bessica faces some stiff competition as she battles opposing school mascots, and faces some bullying along with it. Bessica gets in trouble with the authorities when she fights back against one particularly mean and competitive mascot. Bessica continues to struggle with her Grandma's new romantic relationship, and once again tries to sabotage it. In the end, things wrap up neatly and some valuable lessons are learned. Tween girls will enjoy following Bessica's story and will be able to relate to her mishaps and mistakes.
