What Boys Really Want is funny, smart, engaging, and based on a great concept. Told in alternating chapters and points of view, Adam and Lita enlighten readers as to boy/girl behavior and interactions. Lita secretly writes an advice blog, and Adam decides to write a book about what boys want to distribute to the masses. Extremely witty humor is used and the characters are relatable and highly entertaining. Language is somewhat strong (sk-nk, a-s, sh-t, cr-p, b-tch, a-shole), some underage drinking occurs, and pot smoking is referenced. References are made to "boners" and "boobs" and characters kiss. Two characters come to blows at one point, and Lita is enraged when she discovers that Adam has plagiarized her secret blog. Everything wraps up neatly when Adam and Lita join forces to take his original writings and her advice blog thoughts and combine them to create the book, What Boys Really Want. Teen girls will thoroughly enjoy this well written, often hilarious read, and will gain some insight into how boys think.
