The second in the Mickey Bolitar series, Seconds Away, begins right where Shelter left off. This engaging and suspenseful series is best read in order. A murder mystery with some interesting twists and turns, fans of the genre will enjoy these characters and their quest for the truth. Some violent fighting takes place, characters are often in serious danger, and two shooting incidents leave one character dead and one critically injured and in the hospital. This story is refreshingly wholesome, save for the violence. The term "MILF" is used, but not in its typical context, rather as the name of a club called "Musicals I Love Foundation," though it is clear that the other characters know the true meaning of this term. Basketball continues to be an important element to the story. The ending leaves readers wanting more, and fans of this series will eagerly anticipate the next installment.
