Suck It Up provides a bit of comic relief in the wildly popular vampire genre. Readers who can't resist an underdog will enjoy the story of Morning McCobb, the first vampire to officially come out to the world at large. All Morning ever wanted before he was "turned" was to become a firefighter. The promise of being able to live his human dream inspires Morning to become an unlikely hero and overnight celebrity. This wholesome read even involves a bit of romance, and Morning fights his vampire urges as he develops feelings for his love interest, Portia. Language is relatively mild and infrequent (wh-re, a-s, sh-t, b-tch). Fans can follow Morning's adventures in the sequel, Suck It Up And Die.
