Kill Me Softly is a modern-day romantic fantasy that would appeal to teen girls who were fans of fairy tales as younger readers. Darker than Disney, this story has lots of references to fairy tales in their original form--Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. Teen characters have been cursed to live out the roles of various fairy tale characters, some heroic and others villainous. Teen readers will relate to the underlying theme of the story as Mirabelle fights against her destiny and longs for the freedom to choose her life's path. Teens party a bit and there is some making out. Language is relatively mild and infrequent (a-shole, sh-t, jacka-s, b-tch).
