Over You is a fun, engaging, and empowering story. Girls who have been through a particularly painful breakup will especially appreciate Max and her business, Ex, Inc.. Max has extremely supportive friends/business partners and they come to her aid when she needs them the most. Relationships, self-esteem, and heartache are central to this story. Characters are academically driven, and the college application process is an important element. Max is not currently attending school, as she dropped out early and took her GED, but is using her business to compile research to present to a professor. Teens are largely unsupervised, attend parties and nightclubs, and drink alcohol. Masturbation and sex are referenced, kissing takes place and characters sleep together in the same bed. Language is graphic though not overly prevalent. Lessons are learned, perspective is gained, and characters grow through their experiences. Teen girls will thoroughly enjoy this book, written by the authors of The Nanny Diaries.
