The Scoop
Lunch Lady and the Picture Day Peril (Book 8)—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

As with the other books in the series, Lunch Lady and the Picture Day Peril is a graphic novel that has all of the appeal of an old fashioned comic book while being geared toward younger tweens. Readers will enjoy Lunch Lady's creative gadgets and her dedication to fighting evil--in this case, a nefarious photographer. The humor is wholesome, but even adults will chuckle at some of the quick quips. Violence consists of cartoon punches and fighting with kitchen gadgets. This is a very quick read and a great choice for a reluctant young reader.
