The Story
Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2)—Book Review

It's been months since Aria's mother died, and since Perry became the leader of his tribe, the Tides. And it's been months since Aria and Perry have seen each other. Their reunion should be joyous, yet unfortunately it is anything but. Perry's tribe is swirling out of his control and the last thing they want is to be asked to embrace a former Dweller like Aria. With the Aether storms growing stronger every day, life is becoming just as dangerous for the Dwellers as it is for the Outsiders, and the only hope for everyone's survival may be the haven of the Still Blue. If it even exists. Perry and Aria each have an important part to play in leading their people to safety, but can their love survive what they will have to do to get there?
The Scoop
Through the Ever Night (Under the Never Sky #2)—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

The action in Through the Ever Night begins immediately as Perry and Aria reunite on the first page. A main focus in this book for Perry is earning the respect of the tribe he leads. With living conditions deteriorating as the powerful electrical storms get worse, Perry matures as he has to make unpopular decisions and place the needs of the group ahead of his own. Aria bravely spearheads two dangerous rescue operations, one to bring back Perry's sister and one to save the Dwellers who are left to die inside a crumbling infrastructure. Both Perry and Aria survive harrowing experiences, and their relationship withstands some minor threats. There are some surprises as one unexpected character dies, and a previous bad guy seeks and receives Aria's compassion. As with Under the Never Sky, this title will appeal to teen fans of dystopian and sci fi lit, as well as romance fans. It is exciting and full of action, and because of complex character histories, the two books are best read in order.
