The Spindlers is an imaginative fantasy featuring an intrepid heroine. Undaunted by the strange world she discovers Below, Liza is resolute about rescuing her brother's soul. Children with younger siblings will relate to her attachment to Patrick in spite of his imperfections. This book would appeal to children who enjoy magical adventures in strange worlds. It would also be a good read aloud for families with children of varying ages (up to twelve) as the story would appeal to younger readers, particularly those that appreciate animal tales.
