The Truth About Forever is a moving story about working through grief, and learning to open up and live again. The sixteen-year-old main character watches her father die, and experiences guilt and grief as a result. Language is graphic at times, and teen characters attend numerous un-chaperoned parties where underage drinking occurs. Friends are supportive and kind. Excellent messages are conveyed about opening up the lines of communication within a family, and that no one should strive for perfection, as it simply isn’t necessary or possible.
