The Story
The Truth About Forever—Book Review

Macy is responsible, sensible, and dependable, with a life that is routine. Since her father died unexpectedly a year and a half prior, she and her workaholic mother have been living a quiet, grief-filled life. When Macy’s steady, passionless boyfriend goes away to camp, she sees a long, boring summer ahead of her. All that changes when she takes a job with the chaotic, lively, and eclectic crew that is Wish Catering, and she meets people who open her eyes, take her in, and show her how to live.
The Scoop
The Truth About Forever—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

The Truth About Forever is a moving story about working through grief, and learning to open up and live again. The sixteen-year-old main character watches her father die, and experiences guilt and grief as a result. Language is graphic at times, and teen characters attend numerous un-chaperoned parties where underage drinking occurs. Friends are supportive and kind. Excellent messages are conveyed about opening up the lines of communication within a family, and that no one should strive for perfection, as it simply isn’t necessary or possible.
