The Story
Once Was Lost—Book Review

Sam has a lot of reasons to question her faith in just about everything. Her mother was in a drunk driving accident and is now in rehab, her pastor father is absent and distracted, and a fellow youth group member has gone missing. At a time when faith is the only thing left to hold onto, Sam searches to determine what she truly believes in.
The Scoop
Once Was Lost—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

Once Was Lost deals with mature subject matter in an age appropriate way. A young girl is abducted and most of the story revolves around the community coming together to help bring her home. She does in fact return home alive in the end of the story, and the suicide of her captor is implied. The main character’s mother is an alcoholic who is currently in rehab, and it is suggested that her father has an affair. A moving message is conveyed regarding faith and believing in family, as well as in oneself.
