The Story
Eighth Grade Bites (Chronicles of Vladimir Tod #1)—Book Review

Eighth Grade Bites is the first in The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series. Since his parents’ death three years ago, Vlad has been living with his mom’s best friend, his Aunt Nelly. He has a huge secret he keeps from everyone but Nelly and his best friend, Henry -- Vlad is a vampire. When a teacher goes missing and a mysterious substitute takes his place, Vlad realizes a vampire killer is after him and his life is in danger.
The Scoop
Eighth Grade Bites (Chronicles of Vladimir Tod #1)—Book Review
{spoiler alert}

Eighth Grade Bites is an age appropriate, speedy, and fun read, full of campy gore. Vlad's aunt steals blood from the blood bank to keep him nourished without having to kill people. Language is mild (cr-p). Violence, death, and killing (all vampire related) do take place. Vlad's parents died previously in a fire, which is referenced in the story. He is also bullied and called names. Peril and suspense keep this story action packed and quick moving.
