Eighteen-year-old Collin is a former child prodigy who is unlucky in love. Having just graduated from high school, he finds himself dumped by his girlfriend, Katherine. He's been dumped nineteen times, to be exact, all by girls named Katherine. In an effort to get over his most recent girlfriend, Colin and his best friend take off on a road trip filled with adventure and self-discovery.

This award-winning, witty, and humorous book is fairly tame for a Young Adult read. The characters are likable, kind, smart, and come from loving families. This story accurately captures the angst teens feel during the transition from high school to college. Kissing occurs, and there is some language. Two eighteen-year-old characters get drunk.
