Nine-year-old Beezus is exasperated by her four-year-old noisy, bossy, mischievous little sister, Ramona. Ramona is in rare form as she writes in a library book, upends a checkers game, locks a dog in the bathroom, and invites the neighborhood kids over for a birthday party her mother is unaware of! Beezus' patience wears most thin on her birthday when Ramona ruins her cake and hogs all the attention. When Beezus finally speaks up, she learns that not everyone is pleased with their sibling all the time, and that it is okay to have the non-loving feelings she sometimes has.
